With the pixellation project, I filmed a fish tank to use as my moving background using a stop motion app on my phone. I then used Adobe Animate to draw over each layer of the frames. 

Figuring out how to import the image sequence was the hardest part of this project. Adobe Animate helped me to complete my loop of a jellyfish.  



I wanted a short loop so the jellyfish didn't travel very far, only swimming in a circle. I am not entirely pleased with the gif as my background could not be a seamless loop, the fish positioning make it obvious that the clip has an ending, but this is something that I cannot change. 


I researched many videos of jellyfish movement to accurately illustrate their swimming method and I feel like I did a good job, however I would have liked to do a more detailed version if I had more time.

Water Sensitive Cambridge

 Water Sensitive Cambridge I chose to base my illustrations around the theme of 'Enhancing urban biodiversity by providing habitat for wildlife, and food for butterflies, bees and birds.  When learning about WSC, I found that the Rain Gardens used to prevent flooding were highly versatile - they could be used in homes as well as along pavements. I tried to express this in my drawings.  In each thumbnail I tried to relate to the chosen theme while also expressing the idea of preventing flooding - the main objective of Water Sensitive Cambridge.  The final sketch involves flowers used as umbrellas, a visual metaphor to show the benefits of a rain garden. The flowers keep the path clear for pedestrians, whereas the rain floods the surrounding not inhabiting flowers. Path animation

My city landscape was created using free assets and the pen tool in After Effects. I wanted a simple design with a silhouette background that would instantly be identified.  After my first draft of the path animation, I noticed that the animation was lacking in details and seemed quite boring to look at.  I added fishing boats in simple silhouettes to create more movement and to increase visual interest in my animation. I found it fun to play with the aperture and focal length settings - I had no idea this was possible so easily with 2D animation and am very excited to use these techniques in future projects. For this animation, I allowed the trees to become the main focal point until the end where the fence can be seen to become sharper. If I was to make any changes I would have liked to include more animated elements, maybe including the walk cycle I illustrated previously. I would also like to include more scenery instead of an imitation loop.
